Petanque Court on the lakefront

Petanque is a popular game played around the world.
The rules of the game are fairly simple, throw, toss or roll your teams metal boules closer to the target boule than the other team.  Over a series of rounds the first player or team to score 13 points wins.  The goal might sound simple but players can use a number of tactics to gain an advantage over their opponents. Shooting is a popular strategy often used where players attempt to knock away an opponent’s boule from the target.   Petanque can be either a leisurely game with friends to club members or the game can be played competitively at regional, national or international level.

The Cromwell Petanque Club plays on Sunday’s and Wednesday’s from 1.30pm. New members and visitors are always welcome.
